Purpose

To transport a cargo up an incline to a maximum height using only the energy extracted from a falling weight.

The Mule works in two phases :

Phase 1

  1. Mass falls, pulling string (not shown)
  2. String winch winds the main wheel
  3. Spring extends, storing energy

Phase 2

  1. String releases
  2. Spring contracts, turing the wheel, making car go
  3. cargo moves up the ramp
