- Not to be confused with the flying wing, this blended wing body
aircraft was designed for maximal wingspan, and vaguely resembles the
real X-48 aircraft. Its ruffled accordion tail and erratic swooping
flight pattern mimics a graceful bird of prey.
This aircraft was an interesting failed attempt at developing a long
endurance model for the New Millennium Paper Airplane Contest. It
glides well on a steady path, but doesn't return to stable flight
once perturbed. So when I threw it straight up to start it at maximum
alititude, it turned tail and headed straight back down.
